125 thousand hectare area of the Zag has been destroyed because of improper usage of sand’s main plant Zag. Our country’s desertification is still increasing because such a factors of nature, large amount of livestock and human wrong relation with nature.
Drought which covered 50% of whole territory has happened once in 4-5 years and Drought which covered 20% of whole territory has happened once in 2-3 years.Pity that just 6.7% of Forest reservoir has left now. Other forest had destroyed from forest fire, insects and human improper usage. Some provinces with large a population have been using tree plants, brush wood for firing and it is increasing desertification. One of big problems is a desertification’s border is expanding until Hangai region also covering a towns, farm lands area. Scientist determined that Mongolian desertification is beginning from center, not from south side. If continue like this Ulaanbaatar city will impact under desertification in 10 years.Even though lot of projects such as De-desertification national program, Forest national program, Water national program, Climate change national program are doing now, Pity that the result is not enough.Didn’t go beyond talk Desertification status, lot of rivers and lakes’s drain. A united policy, co-operation activities of NGO, companies, citizen, and government are important. Will it give a right result when mining unregulated usage, forest recovery, grassland capacity, water reservoir are organized under united management?
